Rusty Sonnier

Jeanerette " Funeral Services will be conducted for Rusty Sonnier, Age 27, at 11:00AM Monday, May 28, 2012 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Interment will follow at St. Johns Mausoleum. Visitation will be Sunday, May 27, 2012 from 4:00PM until 10:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume Monday from 8:00AM until service time.

Born in Lafayette and a resident of Jeanerette, Rusty died Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 6:15 PM in St. Mary parish.

Rusty was an avid hunter and fisherman and he enjoyed partying with his friends. He also enjoyed riding his four wheeler. Rusty loved spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his parents, Maxime Sonnier of Opelousas and Lovina Derouen Pepper of Jeanerette; his step father, Randy Pepper; sister, Robin Trahan and husband Chris of Westlake; two brothers, Mac Sonnier and wife Sunny of New Iberia and Nicki Sonnier of Jeanerette; his paternal grandmother, Gussie Olivier of Opelousas and his beloved pet, Sky.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Kelsey Sonnier and his maternal grandparents, U.L. Derouen Sr. and Beulah LeBlanc Derouen.

Pallbearers will be Chris Trahan, Traville Frederick, Ryan Picard, Nicki Sonnier, Shane Vallet and Terry Pepper.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mac Sonnier, Mike Stansbury, Russell Picard, Jr., Tim Parish, Blake Stevens, Scott Savoy Jr. and Tyler Thibodaux.
