November 27 of 1948 was a cold rainy day Joseph Why Hebert married Guersi Imildia Huval, after 64 years of blissful marriage, the Day of November 27, 2012 was spent in prayer, crying and saying their last goodbye. At 10:00PM he fell in a deep sleep. He breathe his last breath on November 29, 2012 at Maison de Lafayette. Youngsville - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Joseph Whiless Hebert, 86, will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at St. Anne Catholic Church of Youngsville with Fr. Jason Mouton officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM.by the Knights of Columbus. Visitation will resume on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville until time of service. Interment will follow at St. Anne Cemetery. A native and a resident of Youngsville, Mr. Hebert was an agriculture and dairy farmer;and he worked as a carpenter for forty years he also belonged to the Erath American Legion, he was a 3rd and 4th degree Knight of Columbus. Mr. Hebert served his country in the United States Army during World War II and The Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Guersi Huval Hebert of Youngsville; his sons, Danny Hebert, Sr. and his wife Martha of St. Martinville,Mike Hebert and his wife Lisa of Lafayette, Kenneth Hebert and his wife Connie of Prairieville, Randy Hebert of Hyattsville,MD and Phillip Hebert, Sr and his wife Kathleen of Slidell; his brothers, Howard Hebert of Erath and Presley Hebert of Jonesboro; his sister, Evelyn Romero of Youngsville: grandchildren, Monique Sanchez and her husband Jonathon of Youngsville, Crystal Hebert of Youngsville, Davey Hebert of Lafayette, Phillip Hebert, Jr. and his wife Serena of Albany, LA, Daniel Hebert, Jr. and his wife Jami of New Iberia, Charlie Hebert of Slidell, Ryan Hebert and his wife Megan of Kaplan, Drake Hebert of Lafayette, Evan Hebert of Lafayette, Catherine Hebert of Lafayette, Danielle Hebert of Slidell, Brittany Hebert of Lafayette, Jenny Hebert of Slidell, Josh Hebert, Jacob Hebert both of Slidell, and Holly Hebert of St. Martinville, and his great grandchildren, Xavier Hebert of Youngsville, Jackson Hebert of Albany, Marianna Sanchez of Youngsville, Grace Hebert of New Iberia, Luc Hebert of Albany, Kynlie Hebert of Youngsville, Shya Hebert of Kaplan and Averi Hebert of New Iberia. Mr. Hebert was preceded in death by his parents, Renol and Anna H. Hebert; brother, Preston Hebert, and sister Mable Sonnier. Serving as pallbearers will be; Davey Hebert, Evan Hebert, Drake Hebert, Charlie Hebert, Daniel Hebert, Jr. and Jonathon Sanchez. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph Hospice.
