Erath " A Mass of Christian Burial for Dana Terry Pike, 62, will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Hampton Davis officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery. A native of Lafayette and a resident of Erath Mr. Pike died at 11:55AM on Monday, July 9, 2012 at his residence. He served his country in the National Guard and The Army Reserve. In his earlier years he was a bullfighter and a bareback rider in the rodeos. He retired from The Fun Shop of Lafayette after over 16 years of services. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judy Boudreaux Pike of Erath; his mother, Hortense Tonsie Judice Pike of Lafayette; a daughter, Wendy P. Thibodeaux and her husband Troy of Erath; two sons, Jason Lester Pike and Jesse Vernon Pike both of Erath; two sisters, Aline P. Norwood of Lafayette and Charlene P. Boudreaux and her husband Dale of Lafayette; and ten grandchildren, Katlyn Thibodeaux, Tyler Thibodeaux, Heidi Thibodeaux, Charley Pike, Landon Pike, Lexie Pike, Dusty Pike, Trent Pike, Nicholas Daily, and Claudette Daily. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester E. Pike; a sister, Vickie Louise Pike; and a brother in law, Glen Norwood. Serving as pallbearers will be Dale Boudreaux, Mike Anderson, Glynn Stutes, Ross Norwood, Kenneth Judice, Ted Judice, William Lay, and Pat Stutes. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Carl Doucet, Tommy Montgomery, Glen Doucet, Layne Abshire, Larry Richard, and Bart White. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Southern Care Hospice and Jackie Olinger for their care and compassion for Mr. Dana.
