Rene J. Trahan

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Sunday evening at 6:30 PM.

A native of Abbeville and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Trahan died on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 9:14 PM in a New Iberia hospital. He was a retired Dairyman. He enjoyed playing Bingo and other activities at Belle Teche Nursing Home where he was a resident for many years. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his son, John T-Boy Trahan; his daughter, Delores Trahan; his brother, Clarence Trahan and his wife Garnet of Buda, TX and his sisters, Amy Trahan Romero of Broussard and Velma Trahan Romero of Coteau. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Olite Bourque Trahan; his parents, Jean Delphie and Sevilia Romero Trahan; his brother, Wilson Trahan; his sisters, Lula Mae Trahan Peltier and Florence Trahan LeBlanc and his nephew, Joseph Raymond Turner, Sr..

Pallbearers will be Robert Ogle, Chris Turner, Gage Turner, Joseph Turner, Curtis Touchet and Calvin Touchet.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Bourque, Logan Turner, Charles Braus, Josh Turner and Daryl LeBlanc.
