Lafayette - Funeral services for Melvin Milton Barrios, 67, will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday July 25, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Youngsville with Guy H. Shafer officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Wednesday July 25, 2012 from 9:00AM until time of services. Interment will be held Saturday July 28, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City Oklahoma. A native of Orange Texas and a resident of Youngsville, Mr. Barrios passed away Saturday July 21, 2012 at Lafayette General Hospital. He was a member of the Doric 205 Morgan City F.&A.M. Survivors include one son Melvin Paul Barrios and his wife wife Joani Barrios; two daughters Kim Stroup and her husband Ronnie Stroup, and Mindy Andrews and her husband Robert Andrews; two brothers, John Barrios and Troy Barrios and his wife Martha Barrios; two sisters Kathy Shafer and her husband Guy Shafer, and Pat Audirsch and her husband Mike Audirsch; his grandchildren Thad Barrios, Zack Barrios, Austin Barrios, Claire Stroup, Blake Johnson and Chelsea Johnson. Mr. Barrios was preceded in death by his parents Thaddeus and Hattie Mae Melancon Barrios. David Funeral Home of Lafayette 316 Youngsville Hwy. (337) 837-9887 will be handling the arrangements.
