New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Emmett Jolet, the former Eunice Eun Delcambre, Age 97, on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia with Fr. Gregory Chauvin and Deacon Theo Landry officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a recitation of the rosary in the funeral home at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia from 9:00 AM until services. Mrs. Jolet was born at Peebles Plantation and was a resident of the Lydia Community most of her life, she died Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 2:31 PM at Franklin Nursing and Rehabilitation Home where she had been a resident for the past two years.She was a skilled seamstress for many years having been employed by local businesses such as Broussard Viator Mens Wear, Abdallas , and Wormsers , while sewing privately from her home as a clothes alterer. Her passions were sweets, baseball, and working in her yard. There could always be found a home made pie or cake in the Jolet kitchen, along with an Atlanta Braves ball game on the television. It wasnt uncommon for customers, family, and friends to find Eun as she was so affectionately called, barefoot and on her knees in the yard pulling weeds. This was of a woman, well into her 80s! She is survived by her children, John Jolet and his wife Charlotte of Bayou Vista, and Kathleen Jolet of New Iberia, her sister, Mabel Delcambre Bodin of Lydia; grandchildren, David Jolet of New Iberia, Steven Jolet and his wife Carrie of New Iberia, Shannon Jolet and her husband Donnie Lee of Lydia, great grandchildren, Noah Jolet of New Iberia, Ryan Jolet of Lydia, Elizabeth Lee of Lydia and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Adam Jolet, parents Clomer and Neomie Broussard Delcambre, grandson Christopher Jolet, daughter-in-law Gail Darcey Jolet and sisters Marie, Mae, Anna Mae and Matilde. Pallbearers will be David Jolet, Steven Jolet, Donnie Lee, Ray Jolet, Jeff Jolet and Ken Bodin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Darrell Bodin, Ryan Jolet, Noah Jolet and Ernest Migues.
