Youngsville - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Edward Romero, Sr. the former Mabel Menard, 89, will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at St. Anne Catholic Church of Youngsville with Fr. Aaron Melancon officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 3:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 from 8:00AM until the time of the services, with another recitation of the rosary at 9:00AM. Interment will follow at St. Anne Cemetery. A native and a resident of Youngsville Mrs. Romero died at 6:20PM on Saturday, November 24, 2012. She is survived by her sons, Charles Romero and his wife Judy of Scott, Harris Romero and his wife Linda of Youngsville, Edward Romero and his wife Lynnell of Coteau, and Christian Romero and his wife Amy of Cottonport; one daughter Juanita Wheatley and her husband Chuck of Lafayette. Mrs. Romero was preceded in death by her parents, Eloi and Philomine Trahan Menard, Sr; her husband Edward Romero, Sr.; seven brothers, Neville, Stanley, Nolan, Lawrence, Horace, Henry and Raymond Menard; four sisters, Ezola Derouen, Denise Bijeaux, Frances Trahan, and Thelma Menard. Serving as pallbearers will be Troy Wheatley, David Romero, Brian Romero, Dwight Romero, Jamie Romero and Trevor Romero. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Romero, Andre Romero, Connor Romero, Shannon Lassengne and Tony Richard David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Highway.
