Joel "Punnie" Morvant, Jr.

Jeanerette- Funeral services will be conducted for Joel Punnie Morvant, Jr., age 23, Thursday March 14, 2013 at 10:00AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Jody Simoneaux officiating. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville. Visitation will begin Wednesday March 13, 2013 from 12:00PM until 10:00PM with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume Thursday March 14, 2013 from 8:00AM until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Joel died Saturday March 9, 2013 at 5:54PM in Iberia Parish. He was employed with Larry Delcambre A/C and Heating Company and took pride in his work. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, especially barbecuing, watching cartoons and Saints football. His true loves of life were his children, Victor, Bailey and Haiden; they were his world and times with them were his most cherished.

He is survived by his children, Victor and Bailey Morvant and Haiden Vincent, his father, Joel Morvant, Sr. and wife Lora and his mother, Monica Labeaud and husband Phillip, all of New Iberia; siblings, Stephanie Trimble, Ridge Morvant and wife Kaisha, Cody Snyder, Kristy Snyder and Brittney Snyder and Dustina Snyderall of New Iberia; his maternal grandmother, Diann Penn of New Iberia; paternal grandmother, Helen Morvant of Jeanerette; Lovancie Uncle Boo Morvant of Jeanerette; his aunt, Belinda Viator and husband Douglas and their daughter Callie of Jeanerette.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lovancie L.J. Morvant, Sr., maternal grandfather, Roy Trimble and his aunt, Belinda Bennett.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ridge Morvant, Phillip Labeaud, Lynn Trimble, Blake Viator, Larry Mitchell and Devin Boudreaux.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dexter Hypolite, Brant Penn, Ryan, Jared, Paul and Kenneth Trimble, Kasey Francis, Brandon August and Josh Boudreaux.
