Woodrow Joseph Terrebonne

Lafayette- A Mass of Christian Burial for Woodrow Joseph Terrebonne, 90, will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, February 4, 2013 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville with Rev. Ed Degeyter as Celebrant. Readings for the mass will be done by Crystal Monte and Tommy Breaux. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 10:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00PM and will resume Monday morning at 9:00AM until just prior to service time. Interment will follow church services at St. Anne Cemetery. Born on January 28, 1923 in Golden Meadow, LA, Woodrow was retired from Texaco. He was a 3rd and 4th degree Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 5111. He also proudly served in the U.S. Army in WWII. Woodrow enjoyed camping with friends, painting and carpentry, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and playing practical jokes on his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Una Romero Terrebonne of Broussard, LA; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Jerald Maturin of Coteau, LA, daughter, Pat Trimble, also of Coteau, LA; son, Danny Terrebonne of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Crystal Monte, Chad Maturin, Angela Breaux all of Coteau, LA and Roxie Prioux of Loreauville,LA; nine great grandchildren and one brother, Floyd Terrebonne of Golden Meadow, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurent and Grace Falgout Terrebonne, son-in-law, Johnny Trimble, his sisters, Alcia Dupre and Laura Mae Romero, brothers, Oubrey J. Terrebonne and Sydney Terrebonne. Pallbearers will be Chad Maturin, Cade Monte, Chance Monte, Bryce Lancon, Ronald Hulin, and Lacy Prioux. Honorary pallbearers will be Cain Maturin, Tyler Breaux, Logan Breaux, Hayden Prioux, Cristen Monte, Kali Maturin, Roxie Prioux, Angela Breaux, Floyd Terrebonne, Roger Bonin, Butch Perdue, and Toby Breaux. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Woodrow JosephTerrebonne to Heart of Hospice, 201 West Vermillion Street, Lafayette, LA 70501 or Concepts of Care Home Health of Vermilion, 420 West Lastie, Erath, LA 70533. Mr. Terrebonnes family would like to give special thanks to Heart of Hospice, Concepts of Care, the extra ordinary nursing staff at Lafayette General Medical Center, and to all those who visited and provided food and comfort during his illness.
