Joseph Larry Segura, Sr.

Abbeville " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Joseph Larry Segura, Sr., 83, will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, February 15, 2013 at St. Theresa Catholic Church with Fr. Kenneth Mayne officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 11:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.

A native of New Iberia and a resident of Abbeville Mr. Segura died at 10:10PM on Wednesday, February 12, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He Retired from Exxon after over 30 years of services and was known for his love to dance.

He is survived by two sons, Joseph Larry Segura, Jr. of New Iberia and Eugene J. Dronette of Apopka, FL; two daughters, Judy Dupuis of Erath and Vickie Desormeaux of Lafayette; two sisters, Zella Landry of Delcambre and Anna Mae Aucoin of New Iberia; ten grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Landry Segura; his parents, Sully and Elena Touchet Segura; six brothers, Wiltz Segura, Gaston Segura, Lloyd Segura, J.C. Segura, Leewood Segura, and Ulysse Segura; a sister, Lilly Delcambre; and a great grandchild, Paige Schexnaider.

Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Stakes, Kevin Schexnaider, Jacob Vincent, Eric Vincent, Chad Segura, and Joe Dronette.

David Funeral Home of Abbeville at 2600 Charity St (337)893-3777 will be handling the arrangements.
