A native of Lafayette Parish and long time resident of Lafayette, Mr. Brasher passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at his residence. Francis was a farmer for most of his life. He was well known for having a green thumb and could literally grow just about anything , sharing his vegetables and fruits with friends and neighbors. He worked for the Louisiana Department of Transportation for 21 years taking an early retirement at the age of 55. Upon his retirement, Francis planted a large garden and went back to the sharing of his fruits and vegetables. He also loved to fish and troll for shrimp and very much loved his animals, especially Tiny, Sassy and Peanut his dogs. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. For Francis; GOD saw you getting tired and a cure was not meant to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered Come to Me . With tearful eyes we watched you, as we saw you pass away. Although we loved you deeply, we could not make you stay. Your Golden Heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. GOD broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
