Wayne "Shorty" Daigle

August 6, 1950 — March 7, 2013

Jeanerette " Funeral services will be conducted for Wayne J. Shorty Daigle, 62, on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Myette Point Baptist Church in Baldwin with Brother Bobby Hodnett officiating. Entombment will follow in Beau Pre Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be at Myette Point Baptist Church in Baldwin on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 3:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume at the church on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 8:00 AM until services. A Masonic Services will be conducted on Sunday evening at 6:00 PM. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator with the Louisiana Department of Transportation. He loved his boat and was an avid fisherman and also loved to play pool. Along with his wife they ministered at Maison Teche Nursing Home and he was the Music Director at Little Pass Baptist Church, Baldwin Baptist Mission and Myette Point Baptist Mission. He was a First Responder and Fire Fighter with the Four Corners Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Jacob Daigle of Glenco; his sons, Kasey Daigle and his wife Jennifer of Ponchatoula and Josh Daigle and his wife Dottie of Detroit, TX; his brothers, E. J. Daigle and his wife Blue and Leroy Daigle and his wife Gillian all of Franklin and his granddaughters, Kathryn Daigle of Ponchatula, Lily and Addie Daigle both of Detroit, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Ida Sauce Daigle and his brothers, Russell and Jessie Daigle. Pallbearers will be Kasey Daigle, Josh Daigle, Brock Thomas, Woody Daigle, Matt Daigle and E. J. Daigle. Honorary pallbearer will be Leroy Daigle. David Funeral Home of Jeanerette, 400 Provost St. (337) 276-5151 is in charge of arrangements.
