Lucy Marks Mason

A native of Arnaudville, and resident of Abbeville, Mrs. Mason passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at a Lafayette Hospital. She was a member of the Our Lady of the Brown Scapulas Carmelite Community and also a member of the Vermilion Homemakers. She loved being with family and friends. She enjoyed cross stitching, traveling and reading. Mrs. Mason was a former hairdresser.

She is survived by her sons, Horace Tony Mason and wife Martha Hebert Mason of New Iberia, and John Wayne Mason and his wife Connie Menard Mason of Erath; daughters Lilias Mason Olivier and her husband Huey Olivier of New Iberia, and Marguerite Mason Delcambre of Abbeville; brother, Louis Marks of Arnaudville; one sister Laurence Marks Gerhart of Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucius Mason; her parents, Joseph Mederick Marks and Berthilde Speyrer Marks; three brothers, Samuel Marks, Jean Batiste Marks, and Paul Marks; three sisters, Agnes Marks Stelly, Rita M. Marks, and Bessie Marks Woods; one son Richard James Mason; one grandchild, Colby Martin Delcambre.

Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Olivier, Troy Mason, Chad Mason, Guy Delcambre, Jarad Mason and Jonathan Norris.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Norris, Andre Robin, Brian Norris, Blake Hernandez, and Landon Olivier.
