Lafayette " A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Monday, November 12, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard for Mr. Maxim Tim Girouard, 93, a native and resident of Broussard Mr. Girouard passed away peacefully Thursday November 8, 2012 at Camelot of Broussard surrounded by his family . Interment will be held in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 9:00 AM until services with a Rosary recited at 9:00 AM. The Reverend Louis Richard will be the celebrant, of the funeral mass and will conduct the funeral services. Gift bearers will be Mr. Girouards brother and sister Ed Girouard, and Belle Pesson, and niece Geraldine Reaux. Lectors will be Bonnie Girouard, and Michaela Lapoint. Altar servers will be Gabrielle, and Isabella Pesson. Eulogy will be give by Yvette Girouard daughter of his twin brother Alton Girouard. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Girouard, Hank Girouard, Chris Lapoint, Danielle Perry, Spence Girouard, Nick Girouard, and Ian Girouard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Lapoint, Gene Perry anf Joshua Hendl. Musical selections will include Amazing Grace, Psalm 23, Ave Maria, Here I am Lord, and On Eagles Wings. Mr. Maxim was a veteran of the United States Army serving five years during WWII, in his youth he played baseball in the Evangeline League, he also enjoyed fishing with his brothers and friends. He along with Henrietta managed Girouards Nursery. They both shared a tremendous passion for the business and along the way formed lasting relationships with their customers. Mr. Girouard is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Henrietta Dwyer Girouard of Broussard; his daughter Maxine and her husband Wayne Lapoint of Broussard; his two sons Steven Steve and his wife Bonnie Beaullieu Girouard of Broussard, and Henry Hank and his wife Karen Theriot Girouard of Lafayette; one brother Edward Girouard of Gonzalas La.; one sister Idabelle Pesson of Broussard; seven grandchildren Christopher Lapoint (Michaela), Danielle L. Perry (Thomas), Nanette L. Hendl (Joshua), Spence Girouard (Savannah), Nick Girouard (Leigh), Megan Girouard, and Ian Maxim Girouard; five great grandchildren Aaron and Morgan Perry, Evan and Dylan Lapoint, and Sloan Girouard. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Ophelia Comeaux Girouard Sr.; five brothers Boni, Earl, Lee, Frank Jr. and twin brother Alton Girouard; two sisters Mable Girouard and Isabelle Reaux. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Lester Ducote and Dr. Jody Rossen and all family and friends that have reached out during this difficult time.
