Altha Marie Romero

New Iberia- Funeral Services for Mrs. Altha Marie Romero will be held on Wednesday December 12, 2012 at 10:30AM at the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Ed Degeyter to serve as the Celebrant. Readers will be Mrs. Romeros granddaughters; Kristi R. Legnon, and Beth R. Viator. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday December 11, 2012 at 10:00AM until 10:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 6:00PM. Visitation will resume Wednesday morning at 8:00AM until service time.

Mrs. Romero enjoyed going for rides in the car, reading, and watching old western movies, she was also an avid wrestling fan. But all of this pale in comparison to the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mrs. Romero passed away on Saturday December 8, 2012 at 6:30AM at a local nursing home. She was 72.

Survivors include her four sons, Randal Romero and wife Sally, Kerry Romero and wife Patty, Harold Romero and wife Shannon, and Jeremy Romero and wife Heidi all of New Iberia; two step daughters, Ann R. Renard and husband Tommie of Erath, and Sandra R. Fontenot of Broussard; three sisters, Ethel R. Melancon and husband Curtis of New Iberia, Ella R. Verot and husband Curley of Duson, and Shirley R. Degeyter and husband Kirby of New Iberia; grandchildren, Sean, Kyle, Chadd, Jacob, Hunter, Isabella, and Ranger Romero, Beth R. Viator, and Kristi R. Legnon; step grandchildren, Chris and Kevin Renard; and eight great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alexis and Eunice Menard Romero; 1 ^st husband Harold Romero; 2 ^nd husband Wesley Romero; and grandson, Kerry James Romero Jr.

Pallbearers will be Chadd, Sean, Kyle, and Jacob Romero, and Chris and Kevin Renard.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Hunter, Ranger, Sean Jr., Evrand, Lucas, Davin, and Talon Romero.

The Family would like to thank the staffs of Iberia Medical Center, New Iberia Manor South, and Heart of Hospice for their care and compassion.
