Elsie Broussard Fremin

November 7, 1930 — January 11, 2013

New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Ulysse J. Fremin, the former Elsie Broussard, 82, on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 2:00 PM at our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father William Gearheard officiating. Gift Bearers will be Michelle Broussard, Ashley Broussard and Teagan Prados. Interment will follow Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 13, 2013 beginning at 11:00 AM until services, the funeral home will remain open allnight. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Sunday at 6:30 PM.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Fremin died on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 12:40 AM at her residence. She was a member of St. Ann Altar Society, she was a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, a member of the New Iberia Womens Association, she was awarded the Women of the Year from the City of New Iberia while she worked at the Public Works Department. She retired from the City of New Iberia Public Work Department after25+ years of employment.

The family would like to thank AAA Home Health, AAA Hospice and a very special thank you to Erika Simon who was our very special angel.

She is survived by her daughters, Geraldine Dugas and her husband Allen, Tammy Prados and her husband Kevin all of St. Martinville, Sharon Fremin and Becky Theriot both of New Iberia; her brother, Delton Dore of New Iberia; her sister, Anna Lou Mestayer and her husband Olan of Loreauville; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years Ulysse Fremin; her parents, Willie Broussardand Duclecia Delahoussaye Broussard Dore; her daughter, Brenda Comeaux; her brothers, Zan Broussard and Elridge Broussard; her sister, Inez Bass and her grandchildren, Allen Dugas, Jr. and Kevin Sonny Prados.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Prados,Sr.,Jason Dugas, Mark Dugas, David Dugas, Ryan Theriot, Cory Theriot, Brad Comeaux and Nicholas Broussard.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter St. (337) 369-6336 is in charge of arrangements.
