Olga Mae Romero Bernard

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Bernard passed away on March 13, 2013 at 5:40am at a local healthcare facility. Mrs. Bernard was a homemaker, and enjoyed traveling, sewing, shopping, and gardening. She also volunteered at St. Francis Diner for 12 years and was a member of the Senior Friends Groups as well as the Homemakers Club.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia B. Gonsuron and husband Ricky of New Iberia, Loretta B. Verret of St. Martinville, sister, Gloria Cieglo and husband Richard of New Iberia, son-in-law, Gerald Verret of Lafayette, ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Neo J. Bernard; parents, Pierre and Lillian Deslatte Romero; daughters, Maxine and Christine Bernard; brother, Matthew Bernard; sister, Mary Bayless; brothers, Leroy Romero, Warren Romero, and Preston Romero.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Ricky Gonsuron, Wayne Romero, Mike Menard, Adrian Walker, John Kleyla, Blake Barras, and Mark Stute.
