Abbeville " Funeral Services for Mr. Joseph R. Boneski, Sr., 69, will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, March 18, 2013 at David Funeral Home Chapel of Abbeville with Rev. A.L. Lyle and Rev. Paul Pruitt officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a service of remembrance at 7:00PM; Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 10:00AM until 9:00PM; and Monday, March 18, 2013 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. A native of Webster, MA and a resident of Henry Mr. Boneski died at 3:53AM on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Huguenot Society of Massachusetts. Then he worked in the oilfield for over 17 years. Mr. Boneski was a sergeant with the Abbeville Police Department and retired after over 12 years of service. While he was with Abbeville Police Department he was the handler of Rambo the K-9 that visited local schools. After retirement he was a salesman at Bay City Ford, and then worked with the Kaplan Police Department. He was known for his love for farming, working outdoors, and his love for his two Labradors Sally and Peggy. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Pemberton Boneski of Henry; four sons, Joseph R. Boneski, II and his wife Laura of Henry, Daniel P. Boneski and his wife Megan of Henry, Sean G. Boneski and his wife Kathryn of Kaplan, and Deric C. Boneski of Henry; four brothers, Richard Boneski, Sr., Louis Boneski, Sr., Albert Forand, Sr., and Joseph Forand, Jr.; two sisters, Connie Misale and Charlene Jones; Eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Boneski and Virginia Denham Forand; and three brothers, Anthony Boneski, Jr., John Forand, and Thomas Forand. Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph R. Boneski, II., Deric C. Boneski, Sean G. Boneski, Daniel P. Boneski, Sean Ramke, and Jonah Weeks. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren. David Funeral Home of Abbeville at 2600 Charity St. (337)893-3777 will be handling the arrangements.
