Juanita Picard Duhon

Visitation will begin Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11:00AM and resume until Saturday, February 9, 2013 until service time. Recitation of the Rosary will be Friday, February 8, 2013 at 7:00PM.

A native of Franklin and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Duhon died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 10:15AM at her residence surrounded by her family. Juanita was a member of St. Marcellus Catholic Church; she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Duhon is survived by her daughters, Dianne Champagne of Erath; Juanita Ransonet and husband Edward and Lisa Latiolais and husband Frank, all of New Iberia; her sons, Joseph Duhon, Jr. and wife Rita, Roland Duhon and wife Wanda and Mark Duhon, all of New Iberia and David Duhon and wife Tammy of Lafayette; her sisters, Georgiana Touchet of New Iberia; Sylvia Plaisance of Baton Rouge; Barbara Davis and Rose Hale of Mississippi; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Duhon was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Duhon, Sr., her parents, Alladan and Bernice Comeaux Picard, sister, Dorothy Goodman, brothers, Richard Picard, Sr. Rodney Picard, Sr., Wilson Picard and Curtis Picard, grandson, Ryan Touchet and step-granddaughter, Rebecca Touchet.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Duhon, Jr., Mark Duhon, Sr., Roland and David Duhon and Heath and Frank Latiolais.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chad, Craig and Joshua Duhon, Roger and Micah Vernnard, Mark Duhon, Jr., Brock Maison, Dustin Courville, Steven Peek, Todd Callahan, Jacob Watson and Roman Wesley, Jr..
