Melvin George "Johnny Boy" Louviere

Loreauville- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Melvin George Johnny Boy Louviere, age 66, will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church Hall with Father Buddy Breaux to serve as Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coteau Holmes. Visitation will begin on Thursday March 7, 2013 from 1:00pm and conclude at 9:00pm with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00pm at David Funeral Home of Loreauville. Visitation will resume on Friday from 8:00am until service time.

Melvin George Johnny Boy Louviere, a native of Loreauville and resident of New Iberia passed away at his home on March 5, 2013 at 6:36pm while surrounded by family and loved ones.

He retired from Texaco after 25 years and was currently employed by Continental Resources. He was a member of the Aurora Masonic Lodge No. 193 and Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, S.J. USA, and a member of Habibi Shriners, Lake Charles, La. and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He loved to hunt, fish, go to the casino and spend time with family, friends and especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by wife Patricia Patsy Louviere of 47 years; one daughter, Angie Louviere Broussard and husband Marcus of Baytown, Texas; two sons, Waylon Louviere and wife Jennifer of Ruston and Michael Louviere Sr. of New Iberia; his mother Vernice Pond Louviere; sister Lumina Teeny Comeaux and husband Easton Tony Comeaux; brother, Hayden Rocky Joe Louviere all of Loreauville and dog Buddy of Loreauville.

He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Mattie, Marcus, Matthew, Macie, Mack, Mason, Marcel, & Malcolm BroussardandMacKenize, Luke, Kassie, Michael Jr., Brynlee and Tristan Louviere and 3 step grandchildren Drakeand Drew Morris and Jarod Norred.

He was preceded in death by his father, Luke Sue Sue Louviere; brother, Kernis Louviere; niece, Tonya Comeaux; grandparents, George and Cora Rebert and Joseph Joe and Corrine Louviere, and Lumina Albert Louviere.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Waylon and Michael Louviere Sr., Marcus Broussard Sr., Lelon and Cordell Comeaux,Leroy Sonnier, Ryan Richard and Nick Louviere.

The Louviere family would like to thank two very special ladies, Miss Marsha and Miss Ericka of AAA Home Health Hospice of New Iberia and Doctor Joseph Brierre and staff of the Oncology Unit at Our Lady of Lourdes of Lafayette and David Funeral Home.
