Grace Schaubert Vincent

New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Wesley Vincent, Sr., the former, Grace Schaubert, age 79, Wednesday March 27, 2013 at 2:00PM at David Funeral Home Parlor with Deacon Wade Broussard officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 9:00AM until service time. A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Vincent passed away Sunday March 24, 2013 at 5:10PM at her residence. Mrs. Vincent retired from the Iberia Parish School Board and was owner/operator of Hard Times Bird Farm and an active member of the Lafayette Bird Club. She was also a member of Lydia Cancer Association and Camp Blue Bird. In her younger years she enjoyed dancing and excelled at it; being a fishermans daughter, she loved seafood. Grace was a talented fisherman and her most cherished times were those spent fishing with her husband. Mrs. Vincent is survived by her husband of 65 years, Wesley Vincent, Sr. of New Iberia; daughter, Sherry Vincent of Broussard; son, Hercules Vincent of Leesville and her brother, Johnny Schaubert of New Iberia; grandchildren, Ashton Wolf, Kenny Vincent, April Masters, Cody Ritter and Lacie Hulin and great-grandchildren, Harley, Genie, Darien, Derrick, Bryson and Jayden. She was preceded in death by her sons, Wesley Bubba Vincent, Jr., Tracy Vincent and Chad Vincent, her parents, Sidney Schaubert, Sr. and Gabrielle Rogers Schaubert, her brothers, Sidney Schaubert, Jr., E.G., Ralph, Whitney and Clifton Schaubert, her sisters, Lydia S. Miguez, Florence S. Menard and Inez S. Delahoussaye. Serving as pallbearers will be Zachary and Jed Schaubert, Kenny Vincent, Cody Ritter, Larry Richard and Guy Schaubert. Honorary pallbearer will be Graces only surviving brother, Johnny Schaubert. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the nurses and caregivers with Iberia Medical Home Health, Heart of Hospice and Home Instead Senior Care for their compassionate care given to Mrs. Vincent. In lieu of flowers the family request donations are made to Lydia Cancer Association, P.O. Box 731, Lydia, LA 70569.
