Abbeville- Memorial Graveside Masonic Services will be held for Roy Kenneth Lanier, Sr., 88, at 3:00PM Thursday, May 02, 2013 at Graceland Cemetery in Abbeville, LA under the direction of Abbeville Lodge # 192 F & AM. Mr. Lanier passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at A M G Specialty Hospital in Lafayette, LA. Mr. Lanier was the owner and operator of Lanier International Farm Implement Company in Abbeville, LA for many years prior to his retirement. He was also a member of the Abbeville Lodge # 192, F & AM and served as a First Mate with the Merchant Marines during World War II. He is survived by his son, Roy Kenneth Lanier, Jr. and his wife, Betty of Lafayette, LA and granddaughter, Margo Lanier Guillory and her husband, Byron of Sunset, LA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Knox Lanier and his parents, George and Laura Robertson Lanier. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made in Mr. Laniers memory to The Disabled Veterans Memorial Foundation, 1020 19th Street NW, Suite 475, Washington, D.C. 20036.
