Coteau- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Eucy Marie Romero, 82, at 11:00AM on Wednesday May 8, 2013 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau, LA with Rev. Barry Crochet as Celebrant. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Tuesday May 7, 2013 from 10:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00PM and will resume Wednesday morning at 8:00AM until just prior to service time. Interment will follow the church service at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery. Mrs. Romero passed away on Saturday May 4, 2013 at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia, LA. Mrs. Romero, along with her late husband, Odley Romero were the owners and operators of Odley Romero Grocery on Captain Cade Road in Coteau, LA for many years. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughters, Sue Carter and her husband George of Coteau, LA, Glinda Lejeune and her husband Shelly of Baton Rouge, LA; son, Peter Romero and his wife Hope of Coteau, LA; daughter, Rachel Boutte also of Coteau, LA; sister, Laura Decoux of Coteau, LA; grandchildren, Nicholas Lejeune and his wife, Melanie of Denham Springs, LA, Laura Lejeune of Baton Rouge, LA, Jesse Boutte and her fiance Brock Chauvin of Delcambre, LA, Sarah Carter of Coteau, LA, Victoria Villaquiran and her husband, Christian of Jacksonville, N.C., Kayla Romero, Kelsey Romero, Joshua Boutte, Kasey Boutte, Ben Romero and Luke Romero all of Coteau, LA; great grandchildren, Mylee Chauvin, Miranda Evans and Laynee Lejeune and one great grandchild on the way, Mason. She was preceded in death by her husband, Odley Romero and her parents, Elus and Blanche R. Romero.
