Charles "Chuck" Stewart Ayers, Sr.

New Iberia- Irish Memorial Services will be celebrated at a later date for Charles "Chuck" S. Ayers, Sr.; A native of New Kensington, PA and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Ayers died Monday May 20, 2013 at 1:00am at his residence.

Mr. Ayers served in the United States Navy and was a World War II Veteran. He was a New Kensington, PA Firefighter and retired after 25 years of dedicated service. "Chuck" was a member of the Lions Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Deborah Cowen Ayers of New Iberia; sons, Charles Ayers, Jr., James Ayers and wife Laurie and Paul "Rick" Ayers and wife Melanie, all of New Iberia; daughter, Rochelle Broussard and husband David of Loreauville and his sister, Clara Donahue of New Kensington, PA; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad and Rachel McKeag Ayers, brothers, Conrad Ayers, Jr. and James and Paul Ayers, and sisters, Alma Landers and June Wigle.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Paul Voorhies, Rita and Harvey Breaux, Ms. T Guidry and Hospice of Acadiana.
