Martha Billodeau

Youngsville- The friends and family of Mrs. Martha Hazel Billodeau are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 11:00AM at David Funeral Home of Lafayette,(337) 837-9887, 316 Youngsville Hwy, Lafayette, La 70508. Rev. Cindy Luquette, a Pastor with Heart of Hospice of Lafayette, LA will be officiating the service.

Hazel, a resident of Youngsville, La. was born in Porum, Oklahoma in 1942. Her family eventually moved to Houston where she graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1960. Hazel worked as a legal secretary for years where she met John Billodeau; in July of 1975, they were married. After moving to Scotland, then Texas, they settled in Broussard, Louisiana where she worked for Conoco for over 20 years until her retirement in 2002. After a few years of retirement, they moved to Villa Rica, Georgia where they were blessed to become a part of the family at Shiloh Methodist Church. They loved Georgia but after her first battle with cancer and beating it, decided to come home to Louisiana. Hazel was diagnosed again with lung cancer in March of this year and after a courageous second battle, passed away peacefully at her home with friends and loved ones near.

She was an only child, born to the late Paul and Ethyl Hensley and was the beloved wife of John Billodeau for almost 40 years. Hazel will forever be remembered by her children, Johnette Billodeau Adams, son in law, Brad Adams, daughter, Pam Leblanc, son, Glenn Billodeau and daughter in law, Jennifer Billodeau. Her treasured grandchildren are Casen and Baylor Adams, Andree Leblanc, Victoria Leblanc, Bethanie Leblanc Thibodeaux, Josh Leblanc, Roland Leblanc, Jenny Leblanc Kirk, Ann Leblanc, Joy Leblanc, Tanya Billodeau, John Bertrand, Lacey Billodeau and Kiara Billodeau. Hazel was very talented, smart woman who loved cross stitching and crocheting. Hazel touched the lives of many people with her generosity, and caring all the way to the end. Most of all, she was a loving mother and devoted wife that will be dearly missed.
