Denise Broussard Blanchard

Visitation will be Friday, May 17, 2013 from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM and resume on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Friday at 7:00 PM.

A native of Catahoula and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Blanchard passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 6:20 PM at her residence.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Carroll Blanchard of New Iberia; her daughter, Aggie Smith and her husband Clay of New Iberia; her grandchildren, Steven Smith, Samantha Smith both of New Iberia and Megan Smith of Lafayette; her special niece/daughter, Lou Melancon and her husband Nathan, Sr. from Loreauville anddaughter Mandy Laviolette of St. Martinville and her son Nathan Melancon, Jr. of Lydia; her brothers, Garry Broussard and his wife Helen from Cecilia; Jerry Conrad of New Iberia and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Denis Broussard and Alicia Broussard Frederick; her sister, Rita Melancon; her brothers, Willis, Murphy, Claude, Larry and baby Jacob Broussard and her grandchildren, Michael and Kathryn Smith.

Pallbearers will be Steven Smith, Nathan Melancon, Jr., Jose Sosa, Mark Broussard, Ed Blanchard and Justin Baudoin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Garry Broussard, Jerry Conrad, Clay Smith and Nathan Melancon, Sr..

Memorial contributions can be made to Heart of Hospice or St. Judes in her name.
