New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Alice Tettie Romero Trappey, age 87, Monday May 13, 2013 at 11:00am at David Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia with Deacon Wade Broussard officiating. Interment will follow in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery in Jeanerette. Visitation will begin Sunday May 12, 2013 at 3:00pm until 9:00pm with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume Monday May 13, 2013 at 8:00am until service time.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Trappey passed away peacefully Friday May 10, 2013 at 12:45am at Consolota Nursing Home. She was previously employed with Trappeys Fine Foods, Hildenbrand Oil Company and Nereauxs Interiors. She enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the Iberia Golf and Country Club. Tettie was a loving and dedicated caregiver to her mother, Florence Walker Romero, and her first and second husband, John Graff Trappey and Issac Romero.
Mrs. Trappey is survived by her daughters, Maud Trappey Gondran and Joy Trappey, both of New Iberia and Toni Jane Trappey of Silverdale, WA; grandchildren, Leander Gondran III and Sean Gondran and wife Angel, all of New Iberia; Christopher Gondran and wife Monique of Youngsville; Tiffany Louviere and husband Anthony of New Iberia; Tricia Segura and fianc Travis of Youngsville; Jeremy GraffSegura of New Iberia; Naomi Botkin of Seattle, WA and Danika Botkin of Los Angeles, CA; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Mackenzie, Michelle, Kelly, Conner, Logan, Hunter, Cayden, Corvin and Ryker; family friends, Jacqueline Gondran and Yvette Gondran, both of New Iberia and her nephew, Gary Dell Romero of Texas.
Mrs. Trappey was preceded in death by her first husband, John Graff Trappey, second husband, Issac Romero, her mother and step-father, Florence Walker Romero and Lucian Romero, her father, Charles Romero, Sr., her brother, Charles Romero, Jr. and her son-in-law, Leander Gondran, Jr.
Serving as pallbearers will be Leander Gondran III, Sean Gondran, Christopher Gondran, Jeremy Graff Segura, Naomi Botkin and Danika Botkin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Gondran, Michelle Gondran, Hunter Cates and Anthony Louviere.
The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to the entire staff of Consolota Nursing Home for the compassionate care given to Ms. Alice.
