Anna Vincent Reed

A native of Abbeville and a resident of Broussard Mrs. Reed died at 9:55AM on Friday, May 10, 2013 at her residence. She was a matriarch of five generations three times; a devoted wife of 72 years; and a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her light as a Christian faithful to her master was shone among her family and friends. She was a talented seamstress who altered and made her families clothes for years. She made her patterns out of old newspapers. She never met a stranger and her door was always opened with a joyful smile and hello. Her rest time was reading the scripture and praying.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, William Reed of Broussard; three daughters, Lorraine Romero and her husband Delfred of Henry, Eva Callahan and her husband Jeb of Cow Island, and Dena Henderson and her husband Robert of Lafayette; four brothers, John Lloyd Vincent of Esterwood, E.J. Vincent of Gueydan, Linus Vincent of Kaplan, and Robert Vincent of Kaplan; a sister, Agnes Bouillion of Chalmette; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emery and Adella Hebert Vincent; a daughter, Katherine Reed; two brothers, Leroy Vincent and Preston Vincent; and two sisters, Rose Mae Vincent and Anna Lee Trahan.

Serving as pallbearers will be Reid Romero, Chad Romero, Sean Romero, Alachia Romero Desormeaux, Sheb Callahan, Craig Callahan, Trevor Georgia, and Ashley Henderson.

The family has request donation be made to Heart of Hospice in Mrs. Reeds name.
