Darrel Joseph Bodin

Visitation will be at David Funeral Home in New Iberia on Sunday, May 19, 2013, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 8:00 AM until the time of services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 6:00 PM.

A native of Franklin and a resident of Lydia, Mr. Bodin passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 7:53 PM at his residence. Known as Road Runner , he worked for Jackie Edgar Ford Dealership in Breaux Bridge. He was a Veteran of World War II having served in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 365 of Jeanerette and was Past Vice Commander of the American Legion for the State of Louisiana. An avid Bowler, he was a member of the Bowling League.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mabel Delcambre Bodin of Lydia; his son, Kenneth Bodin and his wife Glenda of Delcambre; his daughter, Chris B. Broussard and her husband Bobby of Lydia; his grandchildren, Chad K. Bodin of New Iberia, DShane Lemaire, Chuckie Landry both of Delcambre, Tracy Boudreaux of Lydia, Lesli Boudreaux of Denham Springs, Renee Legendre and her husband Scott and Todd Boudreaux all of Lydia and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Achille and Ester Langlinais Bodin; his brothers, Clifford, Stanley and Alton Bodin and his sister, Gladys Landry.

Pallbearers will be Chad Bodin, Tracy Boudreaux, Todd Boudreaux, Kenneth Bodin, Eric Boudreaux and Bobby Broussard.
