Linda Borel Hebert

Jeanerette- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Edwin Hebert Jr., the former Linda Lou Borel, age 69, will be held on Monday July 8, 2013 at 11:00am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Mitchell Guidry to serve as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery.

Visitation will begin Sunday July 7, 2013 at 11:00am and conclude at 10:00pm with a recitation of the rosary at 6:30pm. Visitation will resume on Monday July 8, 2013 from 8:00am until service time.

Pookie as she was affectionately known, passed away and met our Lord and Savior on Wednesday July 3, 2013 at 6:10am at Iberia Medical Center with her family by her side. Linda was born on April 18, 1944 to Inez P. Borel and James Borel Sr. in Jeanerette, La. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, going to the casino, playing pokeno, and writing and receiving spiritual letters from her honorary son Fernando Rosano Alvarez also known as Jose . She will be deeply missed by all.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 51 years, Edwin Hebert Jr.; children, Christalyn Hebert of Cade, Laurie Savoie and fianc Roland Granger of New Iberia, Patty Pope and husband David of New Iberia, Sandy Ellender and husband Carl of Montegut, La. and honorary son Fernando Rosano Alverez of Huntsville, Tx.; brothers, Harold Borel and wife Bobby of New Iberia, Emus Borel and wife Roenna of Loreauville, Mary Alice Foco and husband Ronald of Lafayette; grandchildren, Jared Hebert, Jenna Toups and husband Todd, Kayla Pope, Daven Pope and wife Amanda, Ashle Savoie, Aimee Granger, Aaron Granger, Carson Ellender; great grandchildren Hollister Hebert, Hayden Acosta, Gage Toups, Seth Toups, and Avaleigh Pope.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Sr. and Inez Perez Borel; one son, Christopher Hebert; sisters, Emily Leblanc Schexnayder, Geneva Borel; and numerous half brothers and sisters.

Serving as pallbearers are Christalyn Hebert, David Pope, Roland Granger, Patty Pope, Todd Toups, Jared Hebert, Daven Pope, and Carl Ellender.

Honorary pallbearers are Emus Borel, Harold Borel, and Ronald Foco.
