BROUSSARD - Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 6,th at 10:00 a.m., a mass of Christian burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Marion Billeaud Bell, 89 who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 4th 2013, surrounded by family. Officiating will be Father Peter Emusa. Survivors include her two sons, Richard Dickie Bell and his wife, Katherine Kitty of Lafayette; David Bell and his wife, Lisa of Broussard; two daughters, Linda Bell Bernard and her husband, David of Broussard; Rebecca Becky Bell Rivet and her husband, Richard Riv Rivet of Lafayette; eight grandchildren, Amanda Bernard Castille, Angelle Bernard Chustz, David L. Bernard, Jaime Rivet Stelly, Ryan Rivet, Jason Bell, Corey Bell and Benson Ben Bell. Great-grandchildren; Camryn Bell, Joseph Castille, Alexander Alex Vincent, Bella Chustz, Andrew Chustz , Julien Bell, Kellan Bell, Lyndon Bell, Tom Stelly and Katherine Stelly; two brothers, James Jimmy Billeaud, wife Judy, of Broussard and Thomas Tommie Billeaud, wife Betty, of Lafayette. She was preceeded in death by her devoted husband of 53 years, Alexander A.B. Bell of Broussard; parents George and Beatrice Betsy St. Julien Billeaud of Broussard; her brothers,George L. Billeaud, Emile S. Billeaud, Richard Dickie Billeaud, John Johnny M. Billeaud, and Ramon E. Billeaud. A child of the great depression, Marion was raised in Broussard, married her World War II sweetheart and raised her four children in her home town. She obtained her first of two bachelor degrees from Southwestern Louisiana Institute, SLI (currently University of Louisiana Lafayette) in music; her instrument the piano. When David, her last child, was of age to enter school she returned to the University of Southwestern Louisiana (USL / ULL) to complete her second degree in elementary education. She loved teaching and touched the lives of many children in the Broussard community prior to retiring after 25 years of service. Pallbearers will be her two sons, Richard Dickie Bell and David Bell, and four grandsons, Corey Bell, Benson Ben Bell, David L. Bernard and Ryan Rivet. Honorary Pallbearers will be her two brothers, Jimmy Billeaud and Tommie Billeaud; two sons-in-law, David Bernard and Richard Riv Rivet. The family requests that visitation be observed at Davids Funeral Home in Lafayette, 316 Youngsville Hwy., Wednesday, June 5 from 3:00-7:00pm, rosary prayed at 6:00pm and Thursday morning from 8:00 am until time of services at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Edward Lyons and Dr. John Mickey.
