Helen Domingue Duhon

A native of New Iberia and resident of Jefferson Island, Mrs. Duhon passed away at her residence in Jefferson Island on Thursday, July 4, 2013. Helen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her two daughters Connie and her husband Calvin Laviolette of Erath, and Tammy and her husband Timmy Landry of Delcambre; her four sons Dean and his wife Tessie C. Duhon, Daniel and his wife Sherry Duhon, David and his wife Michelle Duhon and Darren and His wife Tessie R. Duhon all of Jefferson Island; two step sons Kerny and his wife Mary Duhon, and Johnny Duhon all of Jefferson Island; one step daughter Katherin Duhon of Jefferson Island; twenty three grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren; three sisters Lena Romero, Willie Mae Romero, and Verna Falgout.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Duhon; her parents Neuville and Edita Morvant Domingue; four brothers Dennis, Odelon, Walter, and James Domingue; and four sisters Lelia Moreau, Fannie Bodin, Elaine Hulin and Edith Bourque.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Duhon, Nicholas Duhon, Tristan Landry, Kevin Laviolette, Ross Duhon, and Alex Duhon, serving as honorary pallbearers will be Scott and Emit Duhon.

Mrs. Duhons family wish to express a special thanks to the staff of Triple A Hospice for the special care given to their mother.
