Erath - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Johnny Lopez, 84, at 12:30PM on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath officiated by Father Bill Melancon.. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home in Erath on Monday, June 17, 2013 beginning at 2:30PM until 9:00PM, with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 from 7:30AM until the time of service. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum.

A native of Delcambre and a resident of Erath, Mr. Lopez was an Army veteran of the Korean War, Ward Constable for 22 years, honorary fire fighter, member of the American Legion and VFW, and a electrician for the town of Erath.

He is survived by his wife, Della Mae Leblanc Lopez of Erath; two sons, Brady Lopez of Erath and Keith Lopez of Lafayette; daughter, Lisa Lopez of Erath; a brother, Felix Lopez of Erath; three sisters, Rosa Toups of Erath, Yvonne Hebert of Abbeville, and Lucy Trahan of Erath; seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Nolia Mayard Lopez; brother, Maxie Lopez; and sister, Zula Frederick.

Pallbearers will be Jarret Lopez, Jake Lopez, Brandon Lopez, Adam Hopkins, Jarrod Deslatte, and Craig Richard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mickey Hebert and Don Frederick.

David Funeral Home of Erath, 209 E. Putnam St. (337)937-0405 will be in charge of all arrangements.
