Thelma Benoit Norris

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 from 3:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at 8:00 AM until services.

A native of Rayne and a resident of Lydia, Mrs. Norris passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013, at her residence. She loved to tell stories in French to her children and grandchildren. She also loved dancing.

She is survived by her sons, Lynn Norris and his wife Jo and Rivas Norris all of Lydia; her daughter, Shirlean N. Alexander of Lydia and a sister, Elise B. Galatas of New Iberia. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Norris; her parents, Albert and Clementine Guillotte Benoit; her son, Albert Norris; her brothers, Allen, Elton and Clifton Benoit and her sisters, Addie B. Romero, Electa B. Landry, Erise B. Breaux and Mary Etta Benoit.

Pallbearers will be Lynn Norris, Rivas Norris, Dwayne Dugas, Ken Tauzin, A. J. Norris and Lynn H. Norris.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Alexander, Coley Norris, Toby Norris and Nicholas Norris.

The family would like to thank, AAA Hospice, Dr. Jason Landry, her nurses, Marsha, Erica, Lauri and Rachel, her aide, Gail and her special angel, Brooke.
