New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Michael James Thibodeaux, 61, on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at 2:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Colson officiating. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 8:00 AM until services. A native of New Iberia and a resident of Youngsville, Mr. Thibodeaux passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 8:25 PM at his residence. He retired as the Sales Manager at Security Plan Insurance Company in Lafayette. He boxed in England and in New Iberia and loved baseball and the Atlanta Braves Baseball Team. He especially loved watching his grandchildren play baseball and watching his granddaughter at her Karate Tournaments. He also umpired baseball for 12 years. He is survived by his sons, Shep Thibodeaux and his wife Suzanne of Youngsville, Brent Thibodeaux and his wife Nichelle of Church Point and Brady Thibodeaux and his wife Abbey of Abbeville; his grandchildren, Shaye, Seighan, Kylie, Jamie, Ella and Karsyn Thibodeaux. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lillie Peltier Thibodeaux; his brother, Marcus Thibodeaux and his niece, Kylie Thibodeaux. Pallbearers will be Ronald Gary, Jason Fournet, Donald Gary, Lincoln LeBlanc, Brian Broussard and Skipper Thibodeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Shaye and Seighan Thibodeaux.
