Brad as he was affectionately known, passed away Sunday August 4, 2013 at 3:20pm. He was a Diesel Mechanic for Texaco for 25 years and Exterran for 11 years. He enjoyed his work, but his number one passion was Bass Fishing. He was an avid Bass Fisherman, and enjoyed competing in tournaments with his fishing partner Keith Blue Price and fishing as a hobby. He was a member of the Lunker Hunters Fishing Club of Jeanerette and even made his own crank baits by hand from start to finish. His bass lures received high praise and the Louisiana Sportsmen Magazine published an article about Mr. Brad and his Brad Shads . He also enjoyed tending to his yard, cutting his, and everyone elses grass and was always willing to lend a hand. Although he was a man of few words, he was always able to make people laugh with his dry sense of humor.

What brought Mr. Brad out of his quiet ways was his granddaughter, Alaina, affectionately given the nickname Monkey by her grandfather. He and his wife loved taking their granddaughter boat riding. She was his world and he would always promise to come back and play with her when he got back from his fishing trips. He was a man with a big heart, and he will be sadly missed.

Left to cherish Mr. Bradfords memory include his wife of 39 years, Joette Gary Verret of Jeanerette; mother, Thelma Charpentier Verret of Jeanerette; daughter, Kristal Myers and husband Lonnie of Jeanerette; granddaughter, Alaina Myers of Jeanerette; siblings, Carolyn Verret of Lafayette, Brian Verret and wife Becky of New Iberia, Gail Duval and husband Kevin of Jeanerette, David Verret and wife Denise of New Iberia, Clara Hebert of New Iberia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bradford Verret Jr.; father Ulyless James Verret; grandparents, Fernest and Edna Verret.
