Gretna Landry Borel

Visitation will be on Friday, July 26, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 8:00 AM until services.

A native of Patoutville and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Borel passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at 6:20 AM at a New Iberia nursing facility. She was a Chemist at M. A. Patout Sugar Mill for 36 years. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary, Lydia Homemakers Club and the local AARP. She loved to play cards, going to the casino and playing Pokeno.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Wilton Borel of New Iberia; her daughters, Patricia B. Bastanzuri and her husband Martin of Lafayette, Elaine B. Buteau and her husband Lannie of Patoutville and Phyllis B. LeBlanc and her husband Chris of Coteau; her son, Kenneth J. Borel and his wife Cindy of Lydia; her brother, Melvin Landry of Lydia; her grandchildren, Carmen Cetnar and her husband Daryl, Megan Fouquier and her husband Justin, Amber Borel, Alaina Buteau, Shae LeBlanc and his wife Ashlee and Rayner LeBlanc and her great grandchildren, Alex Cetnar, Sidney Cetnar and Wyatt Fouquier.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Agricole and Octavia Theriot Landry; her sisters, Lorraine Naquin, Vivian Guillotte and Violet Hebert; her brother, Alvin Landry; her grandchild, Cody Buteau and her great grandchild, Cohen LeBlanc.

Pallbearers will be Lannie Buteau, Chris LeBlanc, Justin Fouquier, Daryl Cetnar, Chris Haydel and Shae LeBlanc.

Honorary pallbearers will be Carmen Cetnar, Megan Fouquier, Amber Borel, Alaina Buteau and Rayner LeBlanc.
