Judy Vaughn Gonsoulin

Visitation will be on Friday, July 26, 2013 from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Friday at 7:00 PM.

Judy passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 3:30 PM at her residence. Judy was a lifetime resident of Loreauville who lived on the Bayou Teche surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoyed going to church, saying the rosary and teaching all of her children and grandchildren about the Catholic Religion at a young age. She was a very strong woman, despite being crippled by arthritis at a young age, Judy never stopped doing the things that she loved most. She enjoyed her Thursday visits to Earlines Beauty Shop, grocery shopping at chicks , bringing her family together with delicious Cajun meals, attending mass, sitting on her porch with her dog Willie and being the only babysitter her grandkids ever knew.

She is survived by her daughters, Misty Sonnier and her husband, Sandy and Kelly Bernard and her husband Ryan; her son, Bill Gonsoulin; her sisters, Patricia Taylor, Lolita Puggy Vaughn, Pam Meyers and Madeline Touchet all of Loreauville; her grandchildren, Ambre Sonnier, Taylor Walker, Britt Sonnier, Dale Sonnier, Mathew Bernard and Zack Bernard; her great grandchild, Ramsie Kae Walker and her pet dog, Willie Gonsoulin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Jay Gonsoulin; her parents, Gilman and Anna Mae Bonin Vaughn and her brother, Dale Vaughn.

Pallbearers will be Sandy Sonnier, Ryan Bernard, Britt Sonnier, Mathew Bernard, Shane Walker and Clyde C. J. Warfel.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Sonnier and Zack Bernard.
