A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, August 01, 2013 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville, LA for Matthew J. Smith, 42, with Rev. Jason Mouton officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 between 9:00AM and 9:00PM with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume Thursday morning at 8:00AM until just prior to service time. Interment will follow the church service at St. Anne Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Smith passed away at his Parents residence in Youngsville on Tuesday, July 30, 2013. Matt was born in Lafayette on September 23, 1970. He attended Comeaux High School and graduated from UL Lafayette Community College. He was employed in the food service industry. Matt was a loving husband, father, son, and friend to all who were blessed to have known him. He is survived by his wife, Ann Davenport Smith; son, Brendan Matthew Smith; daughter, Kayla Ann Douzat and her husband, John; his parents Calvin and Audrey Guidry Smith; brother, Brian David Smith and his former sister-in-law, Nicole Kercher all of Youngsville, LA and one niece, Mariah Elizabeth Scallan of Lafayette, LA. He was preceded in death by one brother, Kevin Todd Smith; his Paternal Grandparents, Didier and Emily Schexnayder Smith and his Maternal Grandparents, Raoul and Alzire Theriot Guidry. Pallbearers will be Brian David Smith, Brendan Smith, Gerald Boogie Louviere, Isaac Smith, Linwood Broussard and John Douzat. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jonathon Vincent, Frank Touchet, Kevin Romero, Randy Champagne, Ronald Sinitiere and Scott Broussard. The Family request donations be made in the name of Matthew J.
