Rose Lancon Breaux

New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Charles R. Breaux, the former Rose Joan Lancon, 75, on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at 10:00 AM at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Entombment will follow in Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 16, 2013, from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM and resume on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Friday at 7:00 PM.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Breaux passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at 10:35 PM in a New Iberia hospital. She loved playing cards, going to the casino, going to garage sales and loved cooking for her family. She was very religious and was a devoted catholic. Always a giver, she was always looking out for others and especially loved her family and her family was her life. She always taught her grandchildren to never refuse anybody, that somebody may be Jesus .

She was survived by her sons, Blaine Breaux of New Iberia, Troy Breaux and his wife Melissa of Loreauville and Scott Breaux of New Iberia; her sister, Illa Mae Breaux and her husband Mike Breaux of Beaumont, TX; her brother, Leslie Lancon and his wife Dean of New Iberia; her grandchildren, Britney, Brooke, Deven, Rachel, Dayne and Taylem and her great grandchildren, Carter, Connor and Kyson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Breaux; her parents, Willie and Lillian Derouen Lancon; her brothers, William, Gertie, Kenny, Willis, Clarence, Dudley, Dempsey, Mervin, Nelton, and Hansel Lancon and her sisters, Alberta Thibodeaux, Louella LeBlanc, Nell Arcement and Mary Lancon.

Pallbearers will be Blaine, Troy, Scott, Deven, Dayne and Taylem Breaux, Stephen Gaudin and Leslie Lancon.

The family would like to thank Iberia Medical Center nurses and staff.
