Gerald P. Landry, Sr.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 23, 2013, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Friday at 7:00 PM by the Knights of Columbus Council 1425.

A native of Patoutville and a resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Landry passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 8:40 AM in a New Iberia hospital. He was a member and Past President of the Knights of Columbus Council 1425 and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus Msgr. Langlois Assembly. He was a former member of the Jeanerette Chamber of Commerce and was named Outstanding Citizen of the Year in 2007. He was parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where he served as a Regional Pastorial Council Representative and served as a Boardmember for 4 years. He was a Captain Usher and always volunteered to assist with the St. John Blood Drive and Fundraiser for the Mentally Handicap and Special Olympics and also assisted with the Food Drives.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Gladys Derouen Landry of Jeanerette; his daughters, Jodie Lynn Landry of Jeanerette and Tammy Landry and her significant other Robert A. Wiggins, Jr. of New Iberia; her son, Gerald P. Landry, Jr. and his wife Sonia of Evangeline; his grandchild, Brittany Renee' Wiggins of New Iberia; his step-grandchildren, Candace Fontenot and Dylan Fontenot both of Evangeline and his step-great grandchildren, Ayden Fontenot and Layne Fontenot both of Evangeline.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Preval and Marie Charpentier Landry; his brother, Hilliard Landry and his sisters, Joyce Landry Verret, Dorothy Landry Meyers and Judy Landry Robicheaux.

Pallbearers will be Gerald P. Landry, Jr., Robert A. Wiggins, Jr., Amos Landry, Jr., Carl Verret, Jr., Britt Verret, Sr. and Johnny Derouen.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus Council 1425 of Jeanerette.
