Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2013, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and reopen on Monday, September 16, 2013, at 9:00 AM until services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home on Sunday at 6:00 PM.
Mrs. Frioux, a native and resident of Loreauville, was born on January 8, 1919. She passed away peacefully on September 13, 2013 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Mims Mitchell, in Loreauville. Mrs. Frioux was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and a caregiver to her family. She was retired as a nurses aide for a home health service. She enjoyed traveling, especially camping trips with children and grandchildren, road trips with her mother and sister and also enjoyed cruises.
Mrs. Frioux is survived by her four daughters and their spouses, Jane and Kenneth Breaux and Kathleen and Mims Mitchell, III of Loreauville, Carol and Ray Romero of New Iberia, Renee and Stanley Stufflbeam of Abbeville and one step-son and his wife, Courtney and Kitty Frioux of New Iberia. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, her brother-in-law, Perry Decuir and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sully and Edna Chatagnier Prosper; her first husband, Rene Francois Boutte and second husband, E. J. Frioux and two sisters, Rena Gondron and Lois Decuir.
Mrs. Frioux will be escorted to her final resting place by her four daughters.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Kathleen and Mims Mitchell, Laura and Terry Hughes, the Perry Decuir family and Hospice of Acadiana employees, Dr. Morris Hoffpauir, Judith, Louise, Madeline, Laura, Jenie, Donnie, Carolyn and Deacon Dave for the loving care given to their mother.
