Richard "Rick" L. Davis

March 30, 1923 — September 2, 2013

Abbeville " Funeral Services for Mr. Richard Rick L. Davis, 90, will be held at 3:00PM on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at David Funeral Home Chapel of Abbeville with Rev. Shannon Tanner officiating and his wife, Charmin Tanner granddaughter of Mr. Davis providing the vocals for the service. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 11:00AM till the time of the services with a recitation of the rosary at 11:30AM. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum in Erath.

A native of Berwick and a resident of Erath Mr. Davis died at 9:20PM on Monday, September 2, 2013 at Pelican Point Nursing Home. He served his country proudly in the army during World War II and the Korean Conflict having served in Normandy, France and South Africa. He was also a member of The American Legion Post #4158.

His is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rita Landry Davis of Erath; two daughters, Rickie and her husband Arthur James Maloney of Lafayette and Tami and her husband Steve Crosby of Bellaire, TX; seven grandchildren, Christy Ferris, Lori Wood, Pam Mouton, Charmin Tanner, Richard Bubba Crosby, Thomas Crosby, and David Crosby; and eleven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edna Richard Davis; three brothers, Floyd Davis, Walter Davis, and Joseph Davis; and a sister, Inez Nini.

Serving as pallbearers will be his sons in laws and grandsons.
