Eugene was born on February 13, 1945 to Nola Derise Migues and Robert Migues. He was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School Class of 1964. He continued his journey at his alma mater by doing what he loved, Coaching. He coached track and field and basketball at St. Joe from the early 1960s, before he had kids of his own into the early 1990s when he coached his own kids. Coaching was one of the things he was known best for from Little League Baseball, to Biddy Basketball, he was known as Coach by many.

Coach was one of the many titles he held. He was awarded the honor of Jeanerette Outstanding Citizen , he was Commander of American Legion Post 26, Past President of the Jaycees, a member of the Optimist Club and on the Board of the Jeanerette Museum. To many he was known as Migues or Mr. Chaney , for the 49 years of service he gave to Chaney Lumber Company where he would have proudly celebrated his 50th anniversary this coming May.

Eugene was proud of his accomplishments, but none made him as proud as being a husband for 44 years, a father to his two kids and a Paw Paw to his two grandsons. Whether he was watching game shows with his grandkids or coaching them from the stands his family is what he lived for.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Leger Migues of Jeanerette; his son, Eugene M. Migues, II and his wife Rachelle of New Iberia; his daughter, Jennifer M. Davis and her husband Neil of New Iberia; his brothers, Earl Migues and his wife Kathleen of Lydia and Raymond Migues and his wife Drusilla of Bayou Vista; his sister, Anaise Rachal of Bayou Vista and his grandsons, Lane and Cole Davis both of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Migues, Sr. and Nola Derise Migues; his brothers, E. G. Migues, Robert Migues and Wilfred Migues and his sister, Elsie Stansbury.
