Edmond Hulin, Sr.

November 11, 1919 — October 10, 2013

Abbeville - Funeral Services for Mr. Edmond Hulin Sr., 93, will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice with Fr. O.J. Breaux officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 11:00AM until 9:00 PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00 PM, and will resume Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of service. Interment will follow at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Cemetery in Abbeville.

A native of Jefferson Island and a resident of Abbeville Mr. Hulin died on Thursday October 10, 2013 at Pelican Point Nursing Home. He served his country proudly in the army during World War II. He was also a member of The American Legion Post 29. His love of cooking took him to many places where he loved cooking his famous Jambalaya . He was known as the Jambalaya King . He was owner of Hulins Grocery in Abbeville for many years and also worked as the sales manager at Bay City Ford for 20 years.

His is survived by his two daughters Marilyn and her husband Carroll Thomas, and Linda and her husband Sans Broussard; his two sons Edmond and his wife Cissy Hulin Jr., and Michael Todd and his wife Courtney Hulin; eleven grandchildren Kristie and her husband Jerry Besson, Jennifer and her husband Sean McRee, Carroll Beau and his wife Jessica Thomas, Julie and her husband Shane Broussard, Charles Hulin, Coby and his wife Kessie Thomas, Dawn and her husband Johnathan Hebert, Dana and her husband Mike Gautreaux, Virginia and her husband Mitch Falgout, Erin and her husband Dane LeBlanc, and Alaina Hulin; and one brother J.D. Hulin. Mr. Hulin enjoyed his 23 great grandchildren, he was their PaPaw, and always there to play and cook for all of them. He loved his family all together as much as possible.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years of marriage Elise LeBlanc Hulin; one son Jules Welsey Hulin; his parents Giles and Etazia Norris Hulin; four sisters Laurie Broussard, Mable Broussard, Sable Beadle, and Majorie Hulin; three brothers Alton Hulin, Preston Hulin, and Daures Hulin.

Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Hulin, Coby Thomas, Shane Broussard, Jerry Besson, Mitch Falgout, and Johnathan Hebert.

Proclaiming the Scriptures will be Julie Broussard, Jennifer McRee, and Erin LeBlanc. Giftbeaers will be Dana Gautreaux, Beau Thomas and Kristie Besson; Eucharistic Ministers will be Ed Hulin, and Linda Broussard; and musical selections will be done by Davlon Rost, and Gabe Broussard.
