New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Charles W. Felps Jr., the former Therese Anna Gonzales, age 82, on Thursday October 3, 2013 at 3:00pm at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Scott Bullock to serve as the Celebrant with musical accompaniment by Michael Wayne Broussard. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Wednesday October 2, 2013 at 10:00am until 10:00pm. Visitation will continue Thursday October 3, 2013 at 8:00am until service time. Terry as she was affectionately known, passed away on Monday September 30, 2013 at 5:30am at a Lafayette Healthcare Facility. Before retiring in 1998, Mrs. Felps was the Head Customer Service Manager at Wal-Mart of New Iberia since its opening in 1983. Mrs. Felps was a compassionate, wonderful woman that never met a stranger or someone she didnt like. She loved to go to church and being an amazing cook, she enjoyed attending church potlucks. Every month she would mail out prayer poems to the people she loved, cared, and prayed for. She was also a character and loved to play with her daughters and grandchildren, and especially enjoyed playing cards. She enjoyed helping people, touched many peoples lives, and changed their lives for the better. Blessed to have had her as a mother and friend are her daughters; Charlette Rose Felps Estave and husband Irving Jr. of Lafayette, Cheryl Ann Felps of New Iberia, and Charlene Theresa Felps Poirrier and husband Brent Sr. of Coteau. Mrs. Felps is also survived by her grandchildren, Tammy Broussard and husband Neal, Tabitha Yewchuk and husband Marty, Tracy Haider and husband Moe, Chuck Estave and wife Ingrid, Tricia Estave, Brent Poirrier Jr. and wife Layne, Brad Poirrier and wife Liza, Brenda Poirrier Hite and husband Donald, Beau Poirrier; great grandchildren, Christa Broussard, Nikita, Jahneen, and Sava Yewchuk, Daniel Haider, Ivanna, Imani, Madisyn, Hailey, and Isabelle Estave, Tony, Cheyenne, Alayna, Chloe, Zoey, and Sara Poirrier, Dalayna Hite; great great grandchildren, Keely, Sophie, and Owen Webb; sister, Elise Williams; sister-in-law, Gloria Felps; and niece Irene Dugan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Felps Jr.; parents Joesph and Louise Landry Gonzales; and siblings, Yola Hebert, Georgie Dugan, Ann Ellis, Louise Broussard, Joe Gonzales, and Tony Gonzales. Pallbearers will be Chuck Estave, B.J. Poirrier, Brad Poirrier, Shane Hardy, Neal Broussard, and Irving Estave Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Beau Poirrier.
