Loreauville- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Tommy Jude Crochet Sr., age 50, will be held on Wednesday October 30, 2013 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Buddy Breaux to serve as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday October 29, 2013 at 11:00am and conclude at 10:00pm with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday morning the 30th, at 8:00am until service time. A native and lifelong resident of Loreauville and current resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Crochet passed away Saturday October 26, 2013 at 7:20pm at a Lafayette hospital. Mr. Crochet was a self employed mechanic and was a true Car Guy . He enjoyed working on automobiles, and he especially enjoyed rebuilding his old jeep over and over again. Mr. Crochet also enjoyed going to the camp at Bird Island Shoot. He was a hard worker, would have done anything for anyone, and will be missed by many. Left to cherish his memory is his significant other, Charlotte R. LaJaunie of St. Martinville, son, Tommy Crochet Jr. of St. Martinville; daughters, Lacey Crochet of Coteau and Chantale Romero of New Iberia; grandchildren, Destiny Sonnier and Mason Benoit both of New Iberia; siblings, Gail Robin and husband Danny of Loreauville, Perry Crochet of New Iberia, Pierre Crochet Jr. of Loreauville, Theresa Broussard of Coteau Holmes, nieces and nephews, Terry Broussard, Crystal Melancon and husband Nick, and Rocky Crochet all of Cecilia, Danielle Champagne and husband Ryan, Michael Romero, Logan Melancon, Courtney Robin, Nicole Robin Leleux and husband Daniel Jr., and Chassidy Melancon all of Loreauville, Joshua Broussard and wife Josie, and Jacob Broussard all of Coteau Holmes, Brandy Breaux and husband Wilder, Gilbert Seleana, Ashley Crochet, Jennifer Crochet, and Emma Crochet all of New Iberia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierre Gilbert Crochet Sr. and Gertrude Chatagnier Crochet; one brother, Steve Crochet; and one sister, Susan Melancon. Pallbearers will be Mr. Tommys brother-in-law, Danny Robin; cousin, Danny Crochet; son, Tommy Crochet Jr.; brother, Perry Crochet; and nephews, Jacob Broussard and Logan Melancon. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Tommys grandchildren, Mason Benoit and Destiny Sonnier; nephews, Nick Melancon and Josh Broussard; Alton Anthony, Joseph Lavigueur, Bryson Antoine, Daniel Leleux, and Earl Simon.
