Jeanerette " Funeral services will be conducted for Morris Joseph Charpentier, Sr., 58, on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at 2:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Entombment will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, from 10:00 AM until services, the funeral home will remain open all night. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:30 PM. A native and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Morris passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at 1:01 PM upon arrival at a New Iberia hospital. He loved playing cards and shooting pool. He is survived by his girlfriend, Waldean Harrington of Jeanerette; his sons, Morris Charpentier, Jr. of Houma, Ricky Charpentier of New Iberia; his daughter, Leona Charpentier of New Iberia; his step-sons, Christopher Louviere of Erath and Randy Degeyter, Jr. of New Iberia; his step-daughter, Cathy Degeyter of Erath; his brothers, Lloyd LeBlanc, Calvin Langla, Ronnie Menard all of New Iberia, Stanley LeBlanc, Sr. of Carrollton, TX, Carol LeBlanc of Baton Rouge and Randal LeBlanc of New Iberia; his sisters, Marion Badeaux, Joyce Rodriguez both of New Iberia, Sheryl Smallings of Coteau, Penny Kirchhoff of Larose, Kim LeBlanc of Covington and Sharon Schexnayder of Jeanerette; his godchild, Brittney Dore; his grandchildren, Morris Charpentier, III, Heather Charpentier, Destiny Curtis, Malakai Charpentier, Oscar Monsivais, Raoul Monsivais, Juan Monsivais, Madison Daigle, Christopher Louviere, Jr., Alexis Louviere, Abbi Louviere, Justin Degeyter, Juan Carlos Perez, Juan Diego Perez, Brandon Degeyter, Brennon Degeyter, Brayton Degeyter, Brocklin Degeyter, Bret Peltier, Martina Gibson, Sabrina Gibson, Brian Gibson, Juantia Melancon and Hunter Melancon and his great grandchildren, Bryant Polk, Jr., Malcolm Becnal, Jessie Gibson, Zaden Gibson and Alexis Peltier. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Leona Charpentier LeBlanc; His step-father, Freddie Mire; his brother, Robert LeBlanc and his sister, Barbara Derise. Pallbearers will be Morris Charpentier, Jr., Leona Charpentier, Morris Charpentier, III, Randy Degeyter, Jr., Christopher Louviere, Juan Monsivais, Paul Tims and Keith Dore.
