Jeanerette " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Roland Francis Perret, Sr. the former Anita Ducote, 96, will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Jody Simoneaux officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Jeanerette on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 10:00AM until the time of the services with a recitation of the rosary at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at St. John Mausoleum. A native of Cottonport and a lifelong resident of Jeanerette Mrs. Perret died at 4:45PM on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Courtyard Manor. She was a graduate of Cottonport High School then attended Dominican College. After college she taught Elementary School in Avoyelles Parish. She was also an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She is survived by two sons, Roland F. Perret, Jr. of Jeanerette and Dr. Philip S. Perret and his wife Kathleen of Lafayette; a daughter, Jean P. Murphy of Lafayette; and a granddaughter, Laura Kathleen Perret of National Harbor, MD. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Roland Francis Perret, Sr.; her parents, Samuel A. Ducote and Louise Armand Ducote; two brothers, Lurry Ducote and his wife Bertha and Ewell Ducote and his wife Margaret; two sisters, Philomene Cusachs and her husband Barnett and Elvire Hicks and her husband Floyd Hicks, Sr.; four brother in laws, Dr. Frank Perret, Dr. Norbert Perret and his wife Emerite, Dr. Stanley Perret and his wife Olive, and Dr. Sterling Perret and his wife Lucy; and two sister in laws, Anna Fanny Naquin and her husband E. J. and Mary Ann Brummerhop and her husband George. Serving as pallbearers will be members of the family and friends. David Funeral Home of Jeanerette at 400 Provost St (337)276-5151 will be handling the arrangements.
