New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Maurice Paul LeBlanc, 91, on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at 3:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Gregory Chauvin officiating. Interment will follow in the Broussard Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by V.F.W. Post 1982 of New Iberia. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM and a rosary will be recited at 11:00 AM. A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of Lydia, Mr. LeBlanc passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2013, at 5:36 AM in a Jeanerette nursing home. He worked as a Deputy Sheriff during the administration for Sheriff G. Jerry Wattigny for 24 years. He was a bus driver for the Iberia Parish School Board and loved fishing, hunting and farming. He was a Veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his son, Bobby LeBlanc and his wife Claylee of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Robert Trapp, II, Mecekah and Urslaih all of Kansas. He was also survived by 10 grand children and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Bourgeois LeBlanc; his parents, Louis LeBlanc and Angeline Guillot LeBlanc; his sister, Enola Landry Viator and his brothers, Glory and Riley LeBlanc. Pallbearers will be James Calhoun, Herman Bourgeois, Mac Guidry, Brad Bourgeois, Chuck Adams, Hunter Rodriguez and Morris Hankins. Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby LeBlanc.
